Strength problems...

So I asked a trainer friend about this and he hasn't got back to me yet, so I figured I'd throw this out there. It seems like whenever I to arm specific training ie: Bis/tris my left arm seems to be weaker. I can usually curl the same weight with both arms but I get a better pump in my righ bicep/tricep. Should I focus more on dumbells and independent arm movements, and stay away from Barbells/ez curl for a while? Any help would be appreciated.

This is all too common and quite normal.

I noticed strength levels start to even out more when I made sure not to do more reps with one arm over the other (even if I could) and don't cheat or use less than ideal form with the weaker arm so you can do as many reps with it as the stronger one.

We tend to use the hand/arm that's the strongest to do our everyday lifting. Hell....next time you grab one bigass dumbell off the rack...take notice of which arm you grabbed it with....get my drift?

There are little things you can do about that now that you are conscious of it.

*pick shit up and grab shit with the weaker arm purposefully.
*start sets with the weaker arm purposefully (this helps me with dumbell rows tremendously in regards to grip strength.)

Actually thanks for the tips, that helps out alot actually. Will start doing that. Because I am right handed I guess it seems more natural that my right arm is stronger. Go figure haha. Thanks for the advice, well noted!

Exactly...

I find my left is weaker too (im right handed) my left arm is about a 1/4" smaller too, not noticable, but i've started doing just what PW explained above... makes sence hey!

I agree with the above posts as well. I battle the same thing Wala does. In the beginning I started doing left arm movements in addition to my bicep routine. You can do the same. Now my left brachiallis is bigger than my right.

I started picking stuff up with my left like PW said and now my left lat is a touch bigger than my right. But it's ok.

I workout with one of my good friends he had the same problem. I had him doing pulling and dropping the biceps off all together and things evened out for him very well.
