Pull Up Chin Up Problem

Ok so ive been training now about a month in a half. Ive seen really good improvement in my strenght. But i still have a problem.

For some reason i cant do pull ups/chin ups. Not even 1 and im not sure why. Is their some type of excercise i can do that would make me able to eventually do chin ups? And what muscle is it on my body thats to weak that doesnt let me do them.

I mean im Benching 145 Pounds now. And 1 arm curling 60-70 pounds. so its not that im extreamly weak or something

Re: Pull Up Chin Up Problem

work on your back some more it helps alot when trying to do those, do some rows, and do some lat pulldowns.

Re: Pull Up Chin Up Problem

I went from not being able to do 1 to now being able to do 15 wide grip in a row, and I weigh 195. Just keep working on your back -- heavy rows, heavy deads, pulldowns, etc. It will come around.

I'd check your form on those 1-arm curls, because I can guarantee you cannot curl 60 pounds with one arm if you can't do a pullup and you're only benching 145.

Just keep working on your pulling movements and the strength will come.

You can work on your lat pulldowns. When your doing them keep your form as if you were pulling yourself up instead of pulling the bar down, like try keeping your back close to straight up and down instead of leaning far back.

Re: Pull Up Chin Up Problem

makes sense, no apology needed.

now, back to my first statement...
"Just keep working on your back -- heavy rows, heavy deads, pulldowns, etc. It will come around."

eat the food, train the muscle, make the progress.
