Controlling the Pace of a Cut . . .

Hey Guys,

I've been doing the normal summer cut thing (wanna see the old abs as clear as I can) but I guess I'm having a problem controlling the pace. It's as if when I add even a small amount of cardio to my workouts (even something as small as 20 minutes of treadmill), weight will start to drop off of me too fast to avoid lean mass loss.

But, if I cut out cardio or add a few extra cals to the diet, I start slow gaining. It's like I'm walking a razor's edge and can't find a sweet spot.

Several people have told me that it could be because my body is still fairly close to my initial loss (20 mos now since I started) and it's still in flux and will probably overcompensate (rapid gains or losses) or a another year or so. (Don't know how true that is). They recommended staying in the clean bulk phase I've been in since August.

Any thoughts about whether I should try to cut yet and how I can control the pace?

Re: Controlling the Pace of a Cut . . .

If you're losing quicker than you want, simply up your calories. If you're not losing as fast, cut down on carbs.

There's no special number anyone can give you since there's no exact science to it.
