Why Bodybuilders are Cooler Than Weight-Losers Post #1 | | Member

Rep Power: 101 | Why Bodybuilders are Cooler Than Weight-Losers I started at fitness.com with the weight-loss forums because I am cutting. Little did I realize how irritating it would be to post on a board with people who have been fat their whole lives and are looking for balance, or with people who have no health problems or goals, but are just really vain. It's a grey minefield, and I'm a black-and-white type of girl. These are the grounds on which I have concluded: bodybuilders are cooler than weight-losers.
The majority of posters in the weight-loss forums seem to think that everything strict and intense is the equivalent to ridiculous and excessive. Then they make group decisions about what is "wrong" with strict nutrition and supplement use based on their own feelings about it. A lot of people there have done impressive things, don't get me wrong, but the more vocal lifers that post in there with regularity are NOT cool - not like the frequent contributors here, anyway.
So I'm here for the long haul and can stick to the Fat Loss topics for advice. Thanks for the good reads so far, guys. |

I'm glad you like it here. Somehow I missed that you were a lady. My experience has been that cardio AND bodybuilding style workouts will produce awesome weight loss results. For many of us, it's a hobby. Not just a decision about health and weight. |

It's not as fun as being able to eat huge amounts, and it's very hard not to go and eat 1 or 2 chocolate bars, but hopefully the results will start coming soon and that'll keep me going.
Bodybuilders are definitely cooler. |

The internet has created A LOT of Tuff guy experts(in their own mind) BB.com hint hint. I just got tired of all the B/S. If I want some hard core advice I go to a "roid" site and they seem to be pretty cool, but still a few a.holes.
Welcome

Rep Power: 101 | Re: Why Bodybuilders are Cooler Than Weight-Losers I agree with all of the posts - for sure bodybuilding isn't everything, if anything it's the easy part of life because it's relatively simple. I think that's why the weight-loss boards were so frustrating for me: eating and training are the two easiest things in life, not the two hardest. It's harder fitting in family, work, school, and relaxation time. That's part of what message boards are about for me - relaxing and interacting with people that I have at least one thing in common with.
CM - the cardio advice is good.... I'm doing a lot these days, and even though I know it's kind of impossible to cut fat and gain mass at the same time, I found the fullcircle website really useful for tips on protein intake, grocery shopping, and beginner's exercises. I'm psyched to kick it up a notch. Right now I'm swimming in the morning and doing 3 hours of kickboxing and strength training in the evening. I was running, but I have shin splints and had to switch it up for the time being. I can't get back to weights for two more weeks, but then I'm going to hit it like a ton of bricks. As soon as my fight camp is finished the real BBing begins for me.
Again - thanks for the positive responses. And hang in there Sens - I miss eating everything I see, too. I have a cheat day coming up in two weeks and I have serious plans for me, a stack of blueberry pancakes, and an f-ton of whipped butter and syrup. Don't try and stop me! |
