Losing that last few pounds and adding some bulk

Hiya,

I am currently having a few problems in the training department which I thought you guys may be able to help with. It seems like once again, I have hit a brick wall with my training and thought you lot would be the perfect people to help. Sorry if this has been a repeated topic, but I have been looking on the internet, reading different things and its all starting to turn my head into mush!! ...so thought I would sign up on here and get some help from the pros!

The problem is that I have been working out for some time and its got to the point where I cant lose the last bit of stubborn fat to see any type of muscle tone underneath, but I dont want to lose the muscle whilst doing it, if anything, I would like to put a bit on and bulk up at the same time.

At the moment, I am currently doing 5 days at the gym per week which includes:

Monday: 30 to 45 mins cardio with HITT. Biceps, Triceps and Shoulders.
Tuesday: 30 to 45 mins cardio with HITT. Chest and Back
Wednesday: 30 to 45 mins cardio with HITT. Legs
Thursday: 30 to 45 mins cardio with HITT. Biceps, Triceps and Shoulders.
Friday: 30 to 45 mins cardio with HITT. Chest and Back

I usually do 4 weeks of 8 reps, then 4 weeks of 10 reps and cycle this throughout.

On top of this, I play 5-a-side football on Tuesday nights and may have a game of squash on the weekend.

Through the week, I eat 5 meals a day around 400 cal which is always high in protein with good carbs and good fats. A lot of this comes from tuna sandwiches on brown break or eggs ect. I take CLA 3 times a day along with Whey protein after training, middle of day and before bed. I use Saturday to eat whatever I want, as I hear this is good to stop your metabolism slowing down?

It seems I have been following what magazines and forums have been saying, but not seeing any results?!

Could any of you suggest what I may be doing wrong and I may have to bang my head against a brick wall soon!!!

Cheers,

Nick.

If you've been training for a while, you'll have to decide on your goal: either get rid of the last stubborn fat or gain some mass. Probably can't do both simultaneously.

Yohimbine can help if you are already lean and trying to get rid of some stubborn areas.

Re: Losing that last few pounds and adding some bulk

Drop the HIIT!!! Get your diet dialed. Train VERY hard...like CM says in his posts. 5 days of HITT + Football you are scring the shit out of your body. CLA will NOT burn fat...just take a good EFA 2X/day

DAILY!!!
250g of protein
200g carbs
65g fat.
one day per week bump your carb intake to 350

Mon : Legs
Tues : Chest / tris
Thurs : Back / Traps
Fri : Shoulders / Bis
Sat/Sun Rest

Take it or leave it. I can back it up!
