Creatine?

Does anyone use creatine at all? I have a BBing friend who swears by it, and I'm looking to pump up my routine a bit since I'm a beginner.... I know it can't be purely beneficial or everyone would use it.

Any experience in this regard?

Re: Creatine?

I found some information about Cell Tech that I am checking out - thanks for the response.

I'm also looking for user-related info that may not be mentioned on the side of the container though.... are there any ill-effects to using it? And is it safe to use as part of a daily routine for an infinite period?

Re: Creatine?

Cell Tech is overpriced.

Any reputable branded creatine monohydrate is fine.

Re: Creatine?

Yes, the balance of carbs that EAS puts in is the appropriate amount for the post-workout Insulin spike that you are seaking. I wouldn't use it at other times of the day since the only time you need that spike is right after your workout.

Guess everyone responds differently but it's tops on my list right behind protein. I'll have to say over the years I've only talked to a handful of people that didn't have a positive experience with it.

It's like daylight and dark with me when I'm not taking it. I've been off of it now for three months (and can really tell my strength is really down), but when I start back I'm able to feel a remarkable improvement in my endurance and strength in around 10 days.

To each his own but I would in no way put it in the waste of money category

Oh by all means. I just like how people bitch about how they have no money and whine and cry because they can't buy healthy food because its too expensive...yet they can buy a container of creatine for $40 fuckin dollars.

God knows its not the dedicated that should worry, but for an average person there's no point whatsoever in dumping this stuff down your throat. there are people it can help, and there are people it can't. It may work for you, but thats because you're a dedicated guy that puts effort into every piece of the puzzle!

Yeah I totally agree with that, I know a few guys like that spending an insane amount of $$ on supplements and saying they have nothing left for healthy food. I think your food should always come before any type of supplement.

Also like you said the average Joe that uses the gym as social hour would be best to stay away from all supplements, hmmm... gonna get off the soap box now, that's just one of the things that irks me in the gym.

If anyone ever belonged on the soap box it would be you...

then again, I have no freakin idea what a soap box is or what it represents, so I could be totally and completely wrong

Re: Creatine?

Is creatine only to be used for body building? what about a desire in general to gain weight and workout but not look like a body building competitor?

Re: Creatine?

Blasian,
Creatine isn't going to make you look like a bodybuilder--no need to worry there.

I like Prolab micronized creatine, but that's just my own personal preference. Just buy plain 'ole creatine monohydrate and don't waste your money on capsules or exotic formulas.
