modellingmonthly: Excellent how are you doing this evening?
Clare: I am doing fine and yourself?
modellingmonthly: Doing well, excited
modellingmonthly: do you know why
Clare: Not really
modellingmonthly: because you just passed 2000 votes
modellingmonthly: congratulations
Clare: Thanks...last time I looked I had 2..haha
Clare: That is quit a jump
modellingmonthly: how often would you say you check
modellingmonthly: it certainly is
Clare: not often
modellingmonthly: how come? i would think you would be excited
Clare: I didn't tell anyone, but my sister about me trying out
Clare: I am excited
modellingmonthly: so are your fans, i have some questions from them even
Clare: I just didn't think anyone knew
Clare: ok
modellingmonthly: i've just been informed you are the fastest rising contestant in the United States
Clare: I am? wow...that's great
modellingmonthly: yeah, what do you attribute your success to? what sets you apart
Clare: I mean I am a plus size girl and I am probably one of the tallest so I guess people are really appreciating my different look
modellingmonthly: plus size girl is a pretty recent phrase in the modelling industry, but one that it gaining popularity almost as fat as you. what does the phrase mean to you
modellingmonthly: fast*
Clare: honestly to me it means a real woman with curves that eats food on a regular basis instead of going on crazy diets (they are healthy not "fat")
modellingmonthly: somebody comfortable in their own skin
Clare: pretty much
modellingmonthly: speaking of skin, whats your routine?
Clare: it's pretty simple...wake up in the morning, wash my face with my Garnier facial scrub and use a noxema cleansing pad at night
Clare: and once a week i use a cooling mask
modellingmonthly: wow thats pretty similar to my routine
Clare: haha
modellingmonthly: In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.
modellingmonthly: hey but this interview isnt about me, you are the rising star here
Clare: i never put lotion on my face though because it makes me break out
Clare: haha...no you can talk about yourself
modellingmonthly: thanks, but i'm not top ten in the entire capital region so back to you
modellingmonthly: what do you do for a living
Clare: I am a childcare worker at an all boys placement home
Clare: i work with 19 teenage boys ranging from 14 to 18
Clare: and they are placed there by the court systems in their counties
modellingmonthly: sounds tough
Clare: it is sometimes
modellingmonthly: do you get treated differently there as an aspiring model?
Clare: well they dont know that I like modeling, but they treat me differently because I am a young female working with teenage boys. But most of the boys respect me
Clare: Plus they know that I box...so they don't really mess with me
Clare: haha
modellingmonthly: you box? so you could take out all these other models i bet huh?
Clare: hahaha....I guess, but I just keep the violence in the ring
modellingmonthly: but at what cost
Clare: No cost, I am undefeated and I have never gotten a black eye because I train a lot so that I don't get hit often
modellingmonthly: a black eye might put a hitch in your modelling career! good thing you are so talented
Clare: Very good. I have been an athlete all my life though so it wasn;t hard to pick up
modellingmonthly: what are some other talents you have
Clare: Besides my athletic abilities I have been told that I can dance and that I am not a bad singer by my friends
modellingmonthly: wow a multi-talented girl. you really do it all
modellingmonthly: your fans have some questions if you dont mind
Clare: go ahead
modellingmonthly: Spidey from Miscissippi wants to know if you ever thought you would make it this far
Clare: To tell you the truth I really didn't think I would, I mean I have confidence in myself, but I didn't think people would understand my look because I am not a size 2
modellingmonthly: well clare, most people in America aren't. perhaps they relate to you
modellingmonthly: girls feel enormous pressure to conform to a standard. you are a breath of fresh air
Clare: thank you
modellingmonthly: Hugh wants to know if you would pose for playboy if approached
Clare: Definitly not...I mean I respect their business ideals, but it's not the kind of "modeling" for me
modellingmonthly: what kind of modeling is for you
Clare: I actually really want to do runway. I have always been told I have a natural model walk...so I would love to do that
Clare: And high fashion editorials
modellingmonthly: classy all the way
Clare: exactly.....classy can be sexy as well
Clare: you don't have to show a lot of skin to be sexy
modellingmonthly: absolutely. what sort of music do you listen to?
Clare: R&B, Hip Hop, Alternative, Reggae, Soca, Gospel, Jazz and Blues
modellingmonthly: if you had to pick a favorite song what would it be
Clare: I don't really have a favorite overall song
Clare: but from different artists
Clare: i have different songs
Clare: but I love music
modellingmonthly: yeah, same here. do you like Huey Lewis and the news?
Clare: I am not gonna lie, I have never heard
modellingmonthly: Yeah might be a bit before your time
Clare: Haha...my father might know him
modellingmonthly: I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to be Square", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself.
modellingmonthly: your father sounds like a real man
Clare: Well maybe I should listen...I think I will enjoy those ideals
modellingmonthly: speaking of men, thedrivenone wants to know what it would take for a man to win you over
Clare: he is
Clare: I have a lot of respect for him
Clare: Oh lord...haha. Well he has to be a gentleman, have a good sense of humor, intelligent (I need to be able to carry a conversation...especially anything to do with science), good with kids, athletic, and doesn't try to pressure me to do things I wouldn't want to do (not like it would work)
Clare: also to be a family man and a man of faith
modellingmonthly: wow you really know what you want
Clare: I know..I am very picky
modellingmonthly: found the lucky guy yet?
Clare: haha...no not yet, but I am not in a hurry if it happens, then it happens
modellingmonthly: a good outlook
modellingmonthly: so say a guy does try to pressure you, would you hesitate to take him out
modellingmonthly: you know, with your wow strong arms
Clare: no...I am not a violent person. I would just walk away from the situation. But if he put his hands on me then I would have every right to defend myself as would any woman
modellingmonthly: well put
modellingmonthly: what sort of diet and workout do you maintain
Clare: Haha...ummm...I am not really on a diet, I just try not to eat after 7pm and I don't really eat anything with cholesterol in it. My workout is on the weekdays I go to my boxing gym and do a 2hr. work out consisting of cardio and strength training.
