I've read all 7 of the books but in fairness I thought the movies were horrible compared to the books.
I would've never read them but I was dating this girl for a year and she read them all and had books 1-6 and convinced me to read them since I have time at work. Literally it took her 8 months of us dating for her to finally convince me to read them.
Read them all and was shocked I actually enjoyed reading them.
They are not intellectual but she writes them in a way that is very good to read and the story line is exiting.
And yes I had to buy 7 voluntarily to finish the story off, but I didn't wait in line the night before like a lot of the fanatics.
