New to Body Building

Hey everyone!

I stumbled upon this website from the fitness training forum. From what I've read so far there is a lot of good info on here and I am looking forward to learning a lot from you guys.

A little bit about my history: I was active my whole life then typically got a desk job gained weight and started working out on my own not knowing what I was doing for a year or two. I happened to pick up a copy of Oxygen magazine this past fall and became interested in fitness comps. I did a 12 wk program from bodybuilding.com and I just started NROL for Women. I eat clean 90% of the time and I have just started learning how to manipulate my diet for the results I want.

Right now I look like an average person (22 y/o 5'6" 140lbs) but I want to look awesome! I've got a long ways to go and a lot of muscle to build. I'll try to attach a pic of the kind of body I am going to achieve.

Re: New to Body Building

I replied to this yesterday and for some reason it's not showing up today. Hopefully this one will stay.

The bb.com workout was 3 days: chest/tri/abs, back/bi, legs/shoulders. As I was doing it, I realized I didn't have enough muscle yet to be doing concentrated exercises. I know I need to do combination moves and build up strength all over before going back to something like that workout. I can't put the link in yet but I think it was 12 weeks to your future physique by Kris Gethin. Of course I didn't follow it exactly. I really needed to work on my legs so I changed things around to do squats, dl, and lunges on every leg day, also I don't like using machines so I modified it to do as much as possible w/ free weights.
