| Re: Sort Of New! Thanks Big Guns. Yeh hypnosis is incredibly fascinating - well at least for me anyway! It is dismissed as nonsense by some, but I have experienced so many great things through it.
I remember watching Arnie many years ago talking about using visualisation. He said that he would imagine his muscles as being so big that they literally 'filled the room'. It was only after I trained to become a clinical hypnotherapist did I realise that basically he was hypnotising himself (self hypnosis). Him repeatedly visualising his muscles being so big, was a way of him communicating with his subconscious mind of what he wanted. Since the subconscious part of the mind is responsible for the allocation of resources such as proteins, vitamins, minerals etc. it was very clever of him to often tell it what he wanted it to do.
We have to be able to believe we can achieve something in order to do so. That is where hypnosis is very powerful. By repeatedly visualising success, our minds and body's can then take the necessary steps to make it happen.
For years no one thought it was possible to run a 4 minute mile. As soon as Roger Bannister achieved this, everyone realised it was possible, and everyone started doing it!
PS Impressive photos by the way - congrats!
