Stimulus bill passed

It includes

nationalizing healthcare and:

$50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts
$380 million in the Senate bill for the Women, Infants and Children program
$300 million for grants to combat violence against women
$2 billion for federal child-care block grants
$6 billion for university building projects
$15 billion for boosting Pell Grant college scholarships
$4 billion for job-training programs, including $1.2 billion for “youths” up to the age of 24
$1 billion for community-development block grants
$4.2 billion for “neighborhood stabilization activities”
$650 million for digital-TV coupons; $90 million to educate “vulnerable populations”
$150 million for the Smithsonian
$34 million to renovate the Department of Commerce headquarters
$500 million for improvement projects for National Institutes of Health facilities
$44 million for repairs to Department of Agriculture headquarters
$350 million for Agriculture Department computers
$88 million to help move the Public Health Service into a new building
$448 million for constructing a new Homeland Security Department headquarters
$600 million to convert the federal auto fleet to hybrids
$450 million for NASA (carve-out for “climate-research missions”)
$600 million for NOAA (carve-out for “climate modeling”)
$1 billion for the Census Bureau
$4.5 billion for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
$850 million for Amtrak
$87 million for a polar icebreaking ship
$1.7 billion for the National Park System
$55 million for Historic Preservation Fund
$7.6 billion for “rural community advancement programs”
$150 million for agricultural-commodity purchases
$150 million for “producers of livestock, honeybees, and farm-raised fish”
$79 billion for State Fiscal Stabilization Fund

It's extremely hard for me to try and be positive. One one end, they're giving tax credits for new homes (which will help my job), but the other crap in the bill isn't worth the one plus.

I think its funny people complain about jobs not being out there. We are still killing it in the training buisness, and I am still hiring people and they are to damn lazy to make it work. It has alot to do with people being f'n lazy and not wanting to work either. I have some buddies who got laid off a factory, and I have offered them jobs at the club....they say no I want to do factory work. If people wasnt so f'n picky there is work out there. Besdies that they would make more here.

Maybe I could send you a list of people that lost good paying jobs....not the baggers at the super market. consider yourself blessed or lucky that you are doing well. thousands of people in management, etc are now jobless. Maybe they should become trainers. Look Malley I see your point, but it is very 1 sided. The trainers in my area are not doing well. People lost a lot of $$$ in the stock scandle. My very good friend lost over $500K in his "retirement plan" . He still has a job. I don't sdb as being lazy. I sent out 50 apps and got NOTHING!!!! PT at the clubs was less than $20/hr w/ no guarantee on clients. I don't want to turn this into a fight. We'll just see who's side everyone is on.

because of the equal housing act, people built homes that could not afford them. now there are hundreds of houses out there and no banks are giving money. i'm good for work this week, but after that, i don't know.


i interviewed at a gym on saturday. come to find out, the guy just laid off 6 trainers (full and part time) because people are dropping memberships left and right.

Wow thats suprising. It was just on Yahoo that gym memberships, beer, and chocolate are 3 of the very few things that are on the rise. How much do they charge a month there?
