I love this country

We the People
Not we the government

Section 4 - Republican government

The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.

I am no longer guaranteed this. Fail

Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. Ratified 12/15/1791. Note

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

There is no longer freedom of speech, but it isn't the governments fault...the sense of entitlement in this country is sickening, that everything should revolve around every individual person. I say what I believe and only offend those that are willing to be offended

Amendment 2 - Right to Bear Arms. Ratified 12/15/1791. Note

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

There has been talk of getting rid of guns because they are no longer necessary for the same reason they were at the time of the US Constitution's signing. I completely disagree and I beleive we need this right more than ever right now. A revolution is getting close.

Amendment 8 - Cruel and Unusual Punishment. Ratified 12/15/1791.

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

When they made this part of the constitution they already had the death sentence and didn't think twice of using it. We do not have the money to keep these people locked up, put a $.50 bullet in a re-useable gun and shoot the bastard

Amendment 26 - Voting Age Set to 18 Years. Ratified 7/1/1971. History

My amendments to the constitution:

Voting
People relying on the government for their income should not be allowed to vote. They should no longer be considered citizens, but should be considered owned by the United States Government until they can live without its aid.
(there is no doubt in my mind Obama would not have been elected had those on welfare not been able to vote)

A test should be given to any citizen wanting to vote to ensure they understand what they are voting for. If they do not understand the issues, they do not vote. This test should be comprised of simple questions about our country and its government.

When the day comes where The American Government fails, thanks to the communist ideals most people fall into because they cannot take responsibility for their own actions and feel they deserve better than what they have, I will be there to stand up and represent by whatever means I can. The government was not put in place to create and maintain this country, but to ensure we did not fall into the problems that were in England, and certainly to ensure we don't have the problems that arise in a communistic or socialistic government.

I am a little fascist, a little conservative, and a little pissed off. I do not understand how a person can seriously feel the need for more government in our lives. As the first line of the United States Constitution reads WE THE PEOPLE, it is WE THE PEOPLE that need to fix this country, not the government. By voting in more communists we are diminishing the ability for the people to take a stand. By allowing those on welfare to make decisions we are diminishing the effect us hardworking americans have on our country.

It made me sick watching the last elections coverage here in Detroit, to hear black people's responses when asked why they were coming out in record numbers to vote, "We're here to make history", is just flat out rediculous. Something needs to be done because none of these people have a fucking clue what they are voting for.

I often find myself wondering why I'm supposed to love this country, why I care what happens to it. I wonder why people have a pride for being american when everyone else hates it. I wonder this, then I go to a game and hear the National Anthem, I stare at the flag with my hand over my heart and almost come to tears because it all makes sense. My hatred for selfish people vanishes and is replaced with a pride for red, white, and blue. My hatred turns into prayer that this isn't another country on its way to nothingness. We are heading in a direction that would make our founding fathers sick. We are heading so far left we might not be able to go right again.

This is probably the most unorganized thing I've written, no rhyme or reason to it really...its just how I feel.

Re: I love this country

There are millions who believe the same way you do. Many of them came out by the thousands yesterday to show the world. Many Obama voters feel that this is not what they voted for.

I could go on, but I wont. Moreover, you said it all. I agree with just about everything you just said. All I can say is..... it took Jimmy Carter's administration to bring about the Regan revolution of the 80's. I fear the same as you; that we are swinging so far to the left that we may never return. The future is not written. There is no fate, but what we make. (name that movie, by the way ) IT is up to us to stop this.

Re: I love this country

I'm Australian and 14, so think what you want. But I do how ever thoroughly believe that ALL should be allowed a vote, its their country too.

On the topic of guns, I don't know what its like in America, as I've never been there. But statistics do show that guns are a major problem. Here in Australia, we have around 20 gun related deaths per year throughout the entire country, in Japan its around 15, England its around 30, France around 20 as well, etc. In America, it is well over 11,000 a year, and this is a MAJOR difference. This might not be because of guns themselves, after all, guns don't kill people, other people do. This problem could be so bad because of drugs, social disfunction, attitude, society, culture, the education system, alcohol, abuse or what ever you want to point the blame at, the fact is that somethings gone wrong.

Freedom of speech is incredibly important in all countries, and must be in place for society to function, as everyone has an opinion, however, it must NOT be confused with discrimination, or it will be abused, and used against and to hurt people.

I'm not sure if I understood what you said about Cruel and Unusual Punishment, but you must have sympathy for criminals sometimes, in my short life I've seen dozens of acts of horrible violence and I do feel sorry for criminals sometimes, it's the way some people are brought up, related to certain mental illnesses, and sometimes the only way people know how to deal with their problems. Lets face it, this is a cold and hard world to grow up in, and some just can't understand or take it. However, this is not the case with all criminals, some (or most) are just sociopaths, physcos, and lost cases, and I have not quite made my mind up on the death penalty yet.

Should we follow the 'Eye for an Eye' way of thinking?
Or does putting them to death only lower ourselves to their level?

Lastly, as for your belief that 'The People' should take control of the country, you can, through government. That being said, it is incredibly hard to run for parliament and be heard, and I do believe the system being used is not optimal and should be adjusted, as not all are heard, and it is not truly run by the people, rather by old, wrinkled farts who have no idea whats going in the real world.

Now, I'm not sure if all of that was clear, but, like you, its just what I feel, and I just kind of chucked it all out with no specific order. I am only 14 (and three months, thank you) and I'm Australian, so I have no idea what its like in the good ole' USA, and I'm not saying anyones views are right or wrong, but its what I believe, and how society should work and function. So please don't flame me...

Now he has the CIA release all the details of our "torture" techniques to interrogate Gitmo prisoners to get info out of them. Basically the report says that nothing we do will result in death, it's just mind games. And now the terrorists -i'm sorry, enemy combatants- know this.

I wish we would do this. Now, the story seems a little screwed up, but its nice to see countries that still believe in one of the cheaper forms of death.
