Rate My Diet

Hello all,

I've been one of those "off and on" dieters and workout people for a while, and I'm finally trying to do both right at the same time. I'm already in decent shape (6'3", ~185) but I'm trying to reduce body fat and build some definition. This is the diet I'm currently sticking pretty well to for the most part...

Breakfast: Multigrain Cheerios with fat free milk

Lunch: Whole grain bagel, can of tuna, and ground horseradish (for flavor) sandwich, and a banana

Dinner: Grilled chicken breast, tortilla chips with salsa

I drink pretty close to a gallon of water a day. Its not always exactly this, go out to eat once in a while or the wife will cook, beers once in a while but not excessive(unwilling to give that one up!)

This is about 100g of protein, between 1000-1500 calories, and I'm not sure how many carbs. I also take a fiber supplement and a multivitamin.

I'm not really looking to pack on pounds of mass so much as reduce fat and get well toned. A few inches on the chest or arms would be nice I suppose, but not at the cost of keeping that annoying later of fat over my abs... Excercise so far has just been what I could do in the basement, pushups and jumproap etc, and now that classes have started I have access to a pretty nice gym which I plan to use ~4 times a week.

Any input is appreciated, thanks a ton!

Re: Rate My Diet

OK you diet is NOT....on a scale from 1-10 I give it a 2
No protein for Breakfast
Tortilla chips will make you fat.
Lunch and dinner aren't that bad, just a little tweaking and you'll be fine. Pack your back pack w/ food and carry your books in you arms.

You need help for sure.
So look into the threads about diet, do a little research. We will help you out for sure, but like in school, one must do some home work first.

Welcome to the site...stick around as you CAN learn a ton here.

You need to eat 5-6 meal/day
Protein/Carbs/Fats at EACH meal.

Quoted for truth.

Just stick around and do some reading and ask some specific questions and we'll get you on the right track.
