Just got back from my 5th wings playoff game this past weekend, 1st one away from the Joe. The Wings rocked the Hawks 6-1, without their 2 best players (Datsyuk and Lidstrom).
Chicago fans were docile at that time lol
Enjoy some pictures from the United Center I took. |

I'm cheering for the Pen's but think Detroit will be tough to beat. |

Rep Power: 115640 | Re: 2009 Stanley Cup Thread Why is everyone cheering for the penguins? Do you not realize whats at stake here? If Bettman gets his way Fanny Crosby will take home the cup this year, that will be a sad day for hockey. The red wings are no doubt better than the penguins and will not lose this series without some serious help from the officials/injuries.
This series is set up perfectly, and I for one am nervous. Bettman is trying to put his poster-baby on a new podium. Hell, if you've watched the pregame commercials for the NHL you would think the Penguins won the cup last year! It is not right in any way that the Wings have to play their first two games back to back, its a joke. It takes away home ice advantage in the second game, just so bettgay gets his way. He's a flamer and he's ruining hockey.
The Penguins are not as good as Detroit, they aren't as good as Anaheim or Chicago either. They will not win this cup by playing better hockey than Detroit, that I guarantee. |

the only thing that will save Detroit is the defense, if they can shut down Crosby and Malkin, they will have an easier time. I think it'll be a good series. I like Detroit, but also Pittsburgh and would like to see the Pens take it.
both teams go pretty deep, so it's going to be interesting. better than the series last year in my opinion. Lidstrom and Datsyuk either out or playing injured is what the Pens can look forward to. |

We can have two hall of famers out and they still have to deal with Zetterburg, Hossa, Helm, Franzen, Cleary, etc etc. We are so deep this year it's not even funny.
Should be an awesome series. I think I'm gonna drink some beeers tomorrow and start fights with Crosby fans |

I'll be in the joe this weekend in my wings jersey, hoping the refs don't ruin the sport.
Everyone tries to make the wings out like the yankees of hockey but its not like that at all. The wings don't buy their roster, they choose to come here, often taking a huge pay cut to do so.
The penguins aren't as deep as they were last year, losing Hossa and Malone. The wings are even better. I don't see the competition here. In a single game, sure the pens have a chance...but in a 7 game series? |

| And this is 100% true. People WANT to not only play for Detroit, but to RETIRE in Detroit. |

Pros: it'll be an awesome atmosphere
cons: we want to drink beers and that's pretty risky driving 45 minutes home. |

The first opened up at $225, which is better than $350...but it would definitely limit me to one game (game 5 for sure).
Ah well, overpriced bullshit. Should be a crime. |
