i gotta be honest here, i never have ANY suppliment!
unless you count a bit of fruit before workout. i usually never feel the need to have an energy drink, i just get high and hyped just knowing im going the gym!
do you reckon i'd benefit from having an energy drink??? maybe even more energy to lift more ? that type of thing? |

I train early in the A.M. so I need something to get me going. Others work all day and have to train afterwards so again they might need it as well. Otherwise if you're fine without stimulants then I say keep it that way. |

Rep Power: 107397 | I tried one of those Redline drinks today and it seemed pretty good but way too expensive to use regularly. My favorite energy supplement is Vasopro + coffee. I have Green MAG on order that I plan on stacking with caffeine as a pre-workout stimulant and creatine. |

Rep Power: 49 | I have never been into the energy drinks myself. Since I dont drink coffee or tea, I normally pop a caffeine tab when I wake up and one about an hour before I go to the gym. they are 200 mg. tabs (which i believe is about equiv. to a cup of coffee). they seem to work alright. gets my metabolism going in the morning, and a nice kick for the gym. |

My only complaint is upset stomach with a whole pill on an empty stomach. |

I take it 20 minutes before a work out, and then 1 every hour of my work out after that, with water in between. It claims to assist with energy, stamina, mental focus, and recovery - which are the most important things for me during my mindfuck of a workout It tastes good and comes in two flavours, making it perfect to drink in the place of things like Gatorade during long workouts. Here are the ingredients:
Coconut oil seed, kobucha leaf, Yerba Mate leaf, green tea leaf, Rhodiola root, Ginseng root, Devil's Claw root (numbs pain receptors), Tumeric root, Ginger root, Sodium, Potassium. Here is the nutritional information:

Rep Power: 1 | Re: Energy Supplement Thread Has anyone here tried Spike energy drinks? It seems even too intense to use for physical energy needs. While waiting for a ride after to school i was talking with the 7/11 employee (I had bought a rockstar for a hockey game that night) and he asked if i had tried Spike. I obviously hadnt and he was telling me how half of a can made him shake for 24 hours. He claimed he truly shook. I couldnt believe that, so i went over to the coolers and read the label on the can and it actually had a warning box and directions for first time users. It said something like "For first time users, drink half can at first to determine tolerance" and then it went on to describe the level of stimulant in the beverage.
It's one of those things where i want to try it, but i also don't because i don't want to be up 24hours shaking uncontrollably. Anyone have any experience? I'm really just curious to see if anyone has tried it.
(I have since given up energy drinks for the most part aside from five hour energy). |

The active ingredient in many energy drinks is caffeine. |

I've taken epinephrine on several occasions, and when I get it at the hospital they make you stay in there till it wears off so that you don't over exert yourself, you feel incredibly strong, but your heart feels like its gonna beat out of your chest while you are just laying there. |
