About Me:

Age: 23

Sex: Male

Height: 5'9''

AAS exerience: NONE

Weight: 184lbs

Training experience:

I've been weight lifting off and on for the last 7 years but really started to get into training seriously and eating right in the last couple years. I have a new workout partner who is bigger and stronger then me which is awesome.

Current Bodybuilding Training Schedule / Protocol:

Monday: Upper 1

Bench Press 5x5
Wide grip pullups 4x6-8
Weighted dips 3x8-10
Tbar rows3x8-10

Tuesday: Lower 1

Squats 5x6-8
Lunges 3x8-10
Calf raises 4x10-15

Thursday: Upper 2

Standing Military press
Pullups
Dumbbell incline bench press
Barbell rows
close grip bench press

Friday: Lower 2

Deadlifts 5x6-8
Leg press 3x8-10
weighted hyperextensions 3x10
calve raise 4x10-15

Understand that we do different variants of these workouts not just exactly these ones.

Current supplements (exact brand/product name):

50lb bulk box of whey protein
AST Pro 32x Multivitamin
ON Fish Pills
ON Flax pills
DS: Replenish

Current Nutrition and Macros (as much detail as possible):

3200-3500 calories per day. I use to track every single calorie on Fitday.com for almost a year and now it's to the point where I just do it in my head and make sure I never go more then 3 hours without food. I aim for 40/40/20 breakdown. Tons of oats, milk, chicken, potatoes, bread, PB, whey, etc.

Current Daily water intake:

1.5 - 2 gallons on training day
1 gallon on non-training days

Short Term Goal:

Keep adding strength and muscle like I'm doing. I constantly set goals for increased weight on my major lifts. For example I'm finally doing reps of 6 w/225lbs on the bench and I last week I finally accomplished repping 100lb dumbbells on the bench 4 sets of 6.

Long Term Goal: Can't say for sure but right now I'm looking to get to a lean 195-210.

ANY and ALL Prescription / Non-Prescription / Recreational drugs:

I cut out all my drinking except for once every other week.

Supplement history (as much detail as possible):

Whey
creatine
WB/GB stack

I just snapped these pictures. Nobody here so I had to snap these myself. This is around 185-186lbs. I'm 183-184 after waking up and going to the bathroom. Legs are lacking big time but I keep squating away.

BTW I just started tanning again so that's why my back is soo red. It looks worse then it is I promise

Go straight to the bottom to go straight to the first day taste of Replenish.

I've had the last 3 days off of work so things have been weird. Diet has been pretty good though for being off for 3 days for the holidays.

I work third shift so when I have a lot of days off it usually screws my sleep schedule up but oh well. Back to work tonight.

Day 1:

Upper Body

Bench Press

135x15warmup
155x12warmup
185x8
205x8
225x5
235x3

We usually do 5x5 or something but I like to switch it up from time to time.

Wide Grip pulldowns
160lbs x 10
175lbs x 8
175lbs x 8

We usually do pullups but my lifting partner wanted to do these today.

Bent Over Single arm dumbbell rows
80lbs x 10
80lbs x 10
80lbx x 10

These felt great.

Weighted Dips
BW + 45lbs x 10 for 3 sets

2 sets of smith machine shrugs @320lbs.

PWO

Now on to what everyone is waiting for, the first taste of Replenish. Reading over the label it says to take 2 scoops in 16-24oz cold water. It says it can be mixed by a spoon but they recommend the shaker cup. Who am I to argue 16oz of cold water in the shaker cup with 2 scoops of Replenish (1 serving). Slammed down half right when I got home and sipped that last half ten minutes later. First thing I noticed is it's froathy. It will foam up after some good shaking. It only took a minute for it to settle though. Taste is great. No other way to put it. I drink all my shakes in milk so I was nervous about how it would taste in water but it proved to not be an issue. You can definitely taste the watermelon flavor. It actually kind of reminds me of watermelon Xtend. One of the main things I was looking for is how well it mixed. To me there is nothing worse then clumps in your shakes. Well I'm pleased to say that there were no clumps. It has a sort of gritty texture that isn't bad at all. I'll try it in 20oz of water tomorrow and see how it tastes.

A couple days behind but better late then never.

Replenish Day 2:

As soon as I got home I put 16oz of cold water in the shaker cup with 1 serving of Replenish.

Taste: 9.5 out of 10

For a postworkout recovery/protein supplement this stuff really does taste good especially since it's mixed in water. Still reminds me of a thicker watermelon Xtend but like uhockey mentioned, it's a little sweeter.

Mixability: 9.5 out of 10

I haven't tried mixing it with a spoon but 1 serving in 16oz of cold water in a shaker cup left no clumps whatsoever. Like I said on day 1 that it will be frothy when you shake it up but just let it settle for a minute before drinking it. It does have a very slight gritty texture to it but too me it's not even noticable. I presume using more towards 24oz of water will resolve that.

Price: N/A

Honestly, I don't even know how much this stuff costs. I will have to check around and do further review on this.

Day 3:

Upper 2

Bench Press
135x15 warm-up
185x8
205x7
235x3 (a little disappointed but eh)

Cable flies
120lbsx10 nice and slow
140lbsx10
140lbsx 8

Lateral raises with cables
30lbs x 10
35lbx 10
35lbs x 10

T bar rows
135lbs x 10
160lbs x 10
160lbs x 10

Incline dumbbell curls
30lbs x 10
30lbs x 10

Overall, a weird workout. We've been doing the upper/lower split for a couple months so we've been more proan to throw in some isolation work as of late just to change things up. Still felt good for the most part. I'm starting to plateau on my bench over the last month so look for changes there.

Replenish Day 3

Got home from the gym and immediately had my serving in 16oz of water. I usually just slam half of it then sip on the last half for the next 10 minutes. This stuff tastes really good. Nothing much else to say about it. I was impressed to see that it completely dissolves and if you leave it sit nothing will settle at the bottom. I guess I drink too many shakes with oats in them

I woke up this morning with absolutely no soreness. This isn't completely abnormal but I almost always have extreme soreness in my chest for 1-4 days after chest days. Hmmmm......

Nice log Quicks! I think your legs don't look too bad, but keep at them. Your chest, lats, and back widthness needs working.

Definitely my friend and that's the plan. In reality my chest is IMO one of stronger parts but my back width and thickness are definitely lacking.

Time for an update. I had the last couple nights off work (as I mentioned earlier I work 3rd shift) so my sleep schedule is a little off but not bad.

Upper

Bench press
135x12 (warmup) felt like 45 lbs
175x10
225x7
225x6
245x3

Wide grip pullups
bwx10
bwx8
bwx8

Weighted dips
bw+45lbs x 10
bw+45lbs x 10
bw+45lbs x 10

3 sets of lateral raises for the delts with 30lb dumbbells

alternating hammer curls on incline bench
35lbs x 10
35lbs x 8
35lbx x6 (these got heavy quick)

15 minutes on the thread mill. Started at 3mph and worked up to 8mph for the last minute. I think it said I ran 1.71 miles.

PWO

1 serving in 16oz of cold water. Drank half immediately took a shower then sipped on the last 8oz when I got out. Taste great as usual.

Also if you've noticed I've been adding some biceps isolation work. For the last couple months I've been relying on heavy rows and pullups for the majority of my bicep work but I've decided it's time for a new approach. I've realized my problem. I'm still working out with the same weight I've been for the last 5 years. I'm going to start concentrating and making strength gains and concentrate on lifting heavier and heavier. I really like hammer curls for the full range of motion but I will not limit it to them. Also I will only be doing 2-4 sets 1 or 2 times a week but I will be doing heavy isolation work for those sets concentrating on making progress in streght. I've already found the 2.5lb plates at my gym.

It's monday and I did my upper workout today. Tomorrow is legs. Weight is still staying the same. Calories are where they've been but I've been easing up a little on the oats and milk. Florida is in 5 weeks. I don't want to say I'm cutting but I like to call it "drying up." I'm just trying to keep the weight going up but I'm pretty much eating 100% clean. I'm cycling off the creatine mono and I really watch what carbs I eat and I closely monitor sodium intake. So pretty much just trying to cut down a little on the bloat and water weight that I've put on in the last 4 months. Definitely not a full fledged cut but I'm concentrating on eating extremely clean the next 5 weeks.

Upper

Bench presss
135x10
185x10
225x6
225x5

Wide grip pullups
BWx10

Chinups
BWx10

Wide Grip pullups
BW+25 x 6

Chinups
BW x 8

Standing barbell military press
135x8
135x8
135x6

Side lateral raises
25lber's x 10

Tbar row
135x10
135x10
135x10

No cardio today. I felt like I was going to throw up on my Tbar rows which is why they were a little bit lighter.

Legs tomorrow WILL be intense. I'll try and get some new pics up for those interested.

Thanks Big. I'm definitely hitting the chest and lats hard. My legs are coming along nicely, at least strength wise. I actually just realized I haven't posted a leg workout in a while. I've been just concentrating on lower rep/heavy squats 6-10 reps and lighter weight 14-18 reps. Tuesdays leg workout went something like this....

135x10
135x14
185x14
185x16
185x14

These are well below parallel. I'm starting to really like these higher rep squats. They are killer.

My upper workout tonight went like this....

Upper 2

Incline Barbbell bench press
135x10
155x10
185x10
225x2 (lol it was a new PR but I think I can do better then that)

We felt like switching our back workout up for today so this is what we did.

SLDL supersetted w/Bent over barbell rows - overhand grip - supersetted w/long bar barbell rows Bodybuilding.com - Exercise Guides Database.

We did 3 sets and it went.
95lbs SLDL
95lbs bent over barbell row
135lbs long bar row

10 seconds between each. Felt great and it was nice cycling grips.

Hammer curls dumbbells
35x10 - only 1 set since back pounded bi's

Skull crushers
75lbs x 10 (felt like 15lbs)
95lbs x 10 (felt like 20lbs)
115lbs x 8
115lbs x 6 suppersetted w/CGBP x 6

Kind of a lot of volume of tri's but they felt great today. We've been doing nothing but dips and CGBP lately so this is the first time we've tried these in a while and we are definitely up in weight.

We'll talk about Replenish tomorrow to see if I'm sore

Introducing Replenish™ - FAQ & Write-up - Bodybuilding.com Forums

General Experience

Taste: 10/10

Honestly, this stuff tastes great. It has a very smooth and sweet taste to it. The texture is great and the watermelon flavor tastes really good.

Mixability:9.5/10

1 serving in 16oz of cold water in a shaker cup. 5 seconds of shaking and it is completely disolved. I didn't give it a score of 10 because it does have a sort of slightly gritty texture. I actually really like it.

Effectiveness:9.5/10

Since this isn't exactly a product you "feel" working I knew it would be difficult to judge it's effectiveness. This supplement is designed to aid and improve recovery and that it does do. I noticed that on many occasions I had noticeably much less severe DOMS. Especially in instances after chest, leg, or back workouts as those muscles tend to be the most sore. However I will say that this will vary drastically for each person. Recovery really depends on many other factors other then PWO nutrition. If you have your diet in check and allow enough time for rest I do believe this will help improve recovery times compared to all the same factors with no Replenish.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I'm very pleased with this product. I really enjoyed the convenience it added to my PWO shake. Since this is mixed in water you can just put 1 serving in your shaker cup and when you finish your workout just add water. This may have played a factor in my recovery times as I would typically have my shake 20 minutes after the weights where as with Replenish I'm sipping on it 5 minutes after the last set.

Now for my blunt opinion. My only issue with this supplement is the cost. There was a thread where DS did a good job explaining why the cost is the way it is. In all reality for what it is the price is fair. Especially looking at the ingredients and how good it tastes. This is a great supplement that anybody who trains can benefit from. However, I feel that this is something that would really only make a difference for a more experienced lifter who has their diet in check. Reason being if someone buys this thinking it's a miracle PWO supplement and they eat crap the rest of the day and sleep for 5 hours I don't see it making that much of a difference in the big picture. If your diet is in check I firmly believe that this is a great addition to your diet though. You just have to try it and decide if it is worth forking over two Jefferson's a month for. I'm going to order a couple more tubs and see what my thoughts on it over the long run compared to just using whey/oats PWO.

Thanks to all that have followed my log and thanks Uhockey and the rest of the guys over at DS for letting me test this product. I ran this log as fairly as possible and I hope the forum members got something out of it. As always if you have any questions about my experiences feel free to ask me.
