Quick question...How harmful are NSAIDs (ibuprofen, specifically) for muscle building? I normally don't take them because, not only did I hear they were harmful for making gains (a blood thinning attribute, perhaps?) but I also don't like taking stuff I don't need in the first place...I had a ridiculous headache today and caved with Advil. Thoughts? |

Rep Power: 100796 | i'm taking them as a long term (few months) treatment for a rotator cuff injury. I would think that taking them every so often for a headache is no biggie. | |

Rep Power: 1226 | Aspirin thins the blood, ibroprofen is in the same family of chemicals as aspirin, so does ibuprofen thin the blood? From what I remember, it does.
Who wants thin blood and stomach ulcers if you don't have a predisposure for blood clots!?

Rep Power: 250 | Yes I have heard the same thing. A coach came in with his daughter a couple of years ago complaining of weird muscle spasms, he mentioned the ibuprofin thing, but was not entirely sure if they were both related. | |
