Well mate, I use Reflex MicroWhey. basically high % of protein per scoop than your average protein - been using it for like 2 - 3 years.. never did me any harm plus, it mixes straight away, never lumpy.

Go see the guys in BodyActive in Victoria street/stanley street by the Met Quarter in town. You'll get 20% off the price too every 1st sat of the month if you get a memebership (which costs like £2!)

So far, my favorite whey has been ON 100% whey. I believe it is 25g of protein per 120 cals. It mixes really well, and is as easy to drink as water, not thick at all like some shakes I've tried. I'm not sure if they have it in the UK though, I couldn't see why not

At that price, you may find its full of sugars, sweetners, additives, preservatives etc...

What % of protein does it offer per 100g?

heres what it says on the container for gourmet gainer.

Gourmet gainer contians no soy protein, no bloating casein protein and certainly no vegetable proteins. all 30g of gourmet gainers protein comes from 100% pure isoplete, the same incredible protein matrix that makes whey gourmet one of the worlds top selling protein powders, along with 1,ooomg of glutamine peptided stacked on top. the wonder protein is then delivered to your starving muscles via not one but two transport systems: glycocarb and nitriplete with no protein being wasted you'll grow faster and train harder!

In a way, you should forget about all that - thats the advertising part.

Take a look on the back where it says what protein you get from 100g and also it will give the values per serving (like 20 - 40g or something)

Thats where it tells you exactly whats in it. Its sounds like good stuff anyway. but check for carbs - see how many of them are sugars.

Whey protein is whey protein, and the amino acid profile is going to be pretty much the same between brands unless they add extra amino acids. Therefore just go for a whey protein that has at least 80g of protein per 100g. Pure isolate will have roughly 92g of protein per 100g which is even better obviously! If it's got that amount of protein, carbs and fat is going to be low.

I always look at the Protein, Carb, and Fat....Subtract that from the gram amount per serving, that will tell you how much "fillere" is in there. For instance: 40g serving size. 30g Protein, 2g carb, and 1 fat = 33 total grams. So you have 7 grams of "something else in there. This is similar to what Wala speaks of.
