Rep Power: 1 | Protein Shakes I am wondering when to take my protein shake? Does it have to be close to my workout, and do I still take the shake on days off? Also, I'm not a very big guy so how many scoops would I need, I'm 72kg, 5'7". The tub says 1 scoop but isn't that based on some reference sized person? |

Drink your protein shake no later than 1 hour after your workout. It's a long story but, let me just say that it is nessesary for proper recovery. Also, you can have one before bed. With proper training and proper meals throughout the day, this should put a few pounds on you. |

Rep Power: 101851 | Re: Protein Shakes I drink mine IMMEDIATLY after workout. On the drive home, then, 1 hour later I eat a meal. For your size you should have 40g of Whey right after workpout. Drinks are "easy meals" and should be taken everyday. It's protein, and you NEED it to grow. You should learn how many grams of protein you need and divide it by 6 meals....there's your answer.
You need a MINIMUM of 150g of protein/day. |

So 2 meals in 1.5 hours when your body is a sponge. (1 shake and 1 meal) |

I still take a shake or two on off days to get my calories in. |
