Lets consider reasonable expectations from your supplements.
Over the years of being a muscle enthusiast, I have read many, many advertisements on supplements that claim some pretty bold things. What I've learned is that people want to get good results, quick. Real quick. Like, really, really quick. Like Popeye's spinach miracle quick. Like the Incredible Hulk getting real big and real mean and green exactly and only when he needs to.
Wow, what a life. What a great way to let off some steam.
For those who used to watch the series on t.v. with Bill Bixby & Lou Ferrigno, you'll understand what I'm saying. You're driving home in the foothills in the pouring rain. You get a flat tire. You change the tire in the pouring rain and during the task, you hurt yourself. So you get pissed off, you turn green,...... you get instant, phenomenal results from the supplements you've been taking,

and you say screw it! You roll your car down the hill. What a life. The only down side I can see to this is that you wake up half naked the next day, wondering who jacked you for your car. And then you can say to your boss at work,
"Mr. Magee, don't make me angry........ you wouldn't like me when I'm angry." That's a classic line that has been forgotten.
But anyway, back to the results that people expect from bodybuilding supplements......
I've noticed that people are rather impatient when it comes to getting results from their supplements. I would like to encourage you to maintain some patience. You are just going to get frustrated. I guess we have been conditioned to expect great things from this stuff because of the aggressive advertising you see from supplement companies. Building muscle, burning off fat, gaining strength............ all this stuff takes time.
Let's consider steroids for a second. I think that we can all agree that steroids would be the benchmark by which any supplement should be compared. We compare everything to steroids.
Some of you may be surprised to know that it generally takes about a week and a half for you to even feel the effect of Dianabol. You don't just slam back a tab of D-Bol for the first time and then go have the greatest workout of your life. No, no, no. This stuff takes time to even get into your system. And the same thing goes when you inject, say...... Testosterone Cypionate. It's a slow testosterone. It works over the long run. I remember when I got my first cycle. The stuff wasn't kicking in like I thought it would, so I took it down to a steroid guru friend. I said, "Man, I got scammed! This stuff is junk!" He showed me the dragon inscription on the back of the little Dianabol tab I had and assured me it was legit.
Oh yes......... It was legit.

I just had to wait a few more days for it to get into my system.
So you may reconsider shelling out $70 on that supplement that promises pounds and pounds of muscle gain with just one bottle. It just doesn't always work that way. Not even with steroids.
Moreover, if you were to take a steroid cycle right now, you wouldn't change quite like you think you would. You may gain weight, but you likely won't get round shoulders, sticking out past your joints, tall traps leading up to your ears, arms that are squeezed by your sleeve, or a chest that would hairlip Markus Rhul. It takes months and years for that stuff to come even when you are juicing.
I say all of this because I want your attention to be on TRAINING. Supplements are just that...... they are supplemental to your nutrition program. This is why we here at EB.N sometimes counsel that you should have your diet down before getting sidetracked with a supplement. If you gain some patience and understand that your training will give you those results over the long term, you will not spend your whole grip on some supplement that promises phenomenal results.
Over the years of being on the scene, there has only been a handful of supplements on the legal market that I have found to really work.
1. Creatine. It will make you stronger. Very few non-responders to this stuff.
2. Methyl-1-Testosterone. I hate the way it made me feel, but I got stronger, and gained weight. Banned Now.
3. Nor-Androsteine 19. I didn't gain weight, but I felt great and got very strong. Banned now.
4. Nitric Oxide Stimulators. I would get swole, stronger, and put on a couple of pounds. I always respond to these N.O. stimulators.
That's pretty much it for me. Creatines, Pro Hormones, and N.O. stimulators always gave me noticeable results. Of course, the old pro hormones are banned now, and there's some new ones that are pretty good. But still you need to understand that this stuff takes time.
