Rep Power: 4 | Hurrah! I dont see why some ppl have problems with working out with a buddy. Yes their bud might be bigger then them and might be depressing beacsue you cant lift what they can, but i mean you cant help that, in time you will be at that stage, it takes time. I bet if we got a bet going on with seeing who ends up having better gains i would say it might tbe the guy/girl who works with a friend |

Rep Power: 88 | I'm the other guy in this hole thing. I hate working out with somebody else. It's too distracting and I find that it is more of a hassle. If I need a spotter then I would just ask somebody else that is in the gym, but other than that I would prefer to just plug in my head phones and work out alone |

Another reason that I bought my own home gym! | i guess it's cuz i've never found anybody that works out like i do except for my old trainer. i train with like borderline intensity/insanity and like i don't know anyone at all that trains the same why I do and there is no changing my buddy's that do go to the gym so it's just pointless for me to find someone to train with therefor i'm accustomed to training solo |

Rep Power: 655 | When I first started working out, it was with a friend who was (and still is) older/stronger than myself. The biggest advantage was motivation...nothing like someone yelling at you to put up that final weight at the end of a set when you think you're completely drained. Training alone has been better for me personally however, since I can more freely detail my workouts specifically to my body, and can experiment with different exercises on different days without infringing upon anyone else. That's totally a personal thing though...whatever is working best for someone, be it lifting partner or no lifting partner, is by definition the right choice. |

or they go off and do some other exercise ..but if i had a bodybuilding lifting partner it might be diff. |

Nice thread. Thanks for the feedback. I don't know if I'll get a partner or not yet. |
