Re: Changing Work Out Routine

mine changes almost every day. I do Crossfit!!

Most change things about every 4-8 weeks. Whether it's sets or reps, etc. Some have a more periodized routine that changes slightly each week. It's really a case to case thing. Remember, when making a workout routine, plan for PROGRAMS, not workouts.

When you say program, you mean your end goal right?

when i say program, i mean program.... like a 12 week program, an 8 week program, a 4 week program. Not just planning an arm workout, a leg workout, etc. But getting a short term goal and making a routine with cardio/weights to help meet that goal.

Re: Changing Work Out Routine

I changed my workout routine on the 1st of this year. I evaluated the responses I've gotten from some exercises and made some changes. Every year I make this evaluation and I try to work on a muscle group that I think got a little neglected last year.

Re: Changing Work Out Routine

If you are NOT adding weight you are not going to get stronger. I change my workouts on a whim. When I get bored. My workouts are rarely the same, HOWEVER, I do the same exercises most of the time, just at different times in my workout.

My weight changes with almost every workout or 2 or 3. if I can complete all my sets with the same weight, I go up. I'd rather have a couple reps I cannot finish than have a workout that I can easily complete.

So meaning if you were supposed to do 12 reps in 1 set but you maximized the weight and you were able to do just 8 reps, this is fine?
