Most change things about every 4-8 weeks. Whether it's sets or reps, etc. Some have a more periodized routine that changes slightly each week. It's really a case to case thing. Remember, when making a workout routine, plan for PROGRAMS, not workouts. |

when i say program, i mean program.... like a 12 week program, an 8 week program, a 4 week program. Not just planning an arm workout, a leg workout, etc. But getting a short term goal and making a routine with cardio/weights to help meet that goal. |

Rep Power: 101357 | Re: Changing Work Out Routine I changed my workout routine on the 1st of this year. I evaluated the responses I've gotten from some exercises and made some changes. Every year I make this evaluation and I try to work on a muscle group that I think got a little neglected last year. |

I'd rather have a couple reps I cannot finish than have a workout that I can easily complete. |
