47 minutes. Good Or Not Good?

Ok so ive done some research on how long you should be training for when you do train. And thiers alot of articles about training for 47 minutes as this is your maximum gain.

but you see i know lots of guys hitting the gym for 1-2 hours a day . and im sure lots of others do it.

So pretty much what do you think is best to do. 47 minute workout, By timing your Breaks and excercises to be in the 47 time limit. Or just do your training as normally and the longer your thier the better?

I do however long it takes to finish my work out. Which can range from 40-90 minutes. I believe that 47 minutes is bs

Isn't there a drop in insulin levels after 90 minutes of weight training or something like that?

Re: 47 minutes. Good Or Not Good?

I couldn't get myself to lift for over an hour and a half. I've been doing about a minute between sets (just enough time for my partner to get his set in and change weight)

I'm doing push/pull/skipping legs right now, but when I do train the only time I can get over an hour is when I do cardio. I've been keeping rest between sets minimal and I love it.

Re: 47 minutes. Good Or Not Good?

There's not a magic number of minutes that is better for training. "47 minutes" is completely arbitrary.

I train for about an hour, three to four times a week. The pros train 2+ hours, 6 days a week. But they have some "chemical enhancements" that allow them to train more than a natural trainee.

Wouldnt know, I have never in my life worked with weights over an hour. Well maybe in high school, but I highly doubt I did it without messing around.

Re: 47 minutes. Good Or Not Good?

Also...Do they mean "Training time" or "time in the gym" Big difference. If each set took 1 minute...that would be 47 sets.

they mean actually time in the gym. It has something to do with your body's state from when you start training.

ya me to i think its bs, but i was just wondering cause ive actually read it in a few places. But ya im going to just continue training however i do and however long it takes me.

I think you could train for 3 hours IF you drank some carbs w/ alittle protein during the time.

Re: 47 minutes. Good Or Not Good?

but would working out for 3 hours even be good? like isnt thier a point when your body wouldn't achieve growth anymore from a consecutive workout? or is it literally more u work more u gain

Re: 47 minutes. Good Or Not Good?

I've heard this too...

Personally I don't workout longer than an hour.

I think timing your workout to match a 47 minute time limit is a bit tedious and unnecessary.

You'll be fine with a 45 to 60 minute workout.
