You do what you believe in.... I'll get results! Post #1 | | Moderator

Rep Power: 101357 | You do what you believe in.... I'll get results! I was doing skullcrushers the other day with the olympic bar and 35's on each side. Then I did dips while hanging 2 45 lb. plates. A guy who was wearing a tight shirt, ipod, and plucked eyebrows was taking notice of my choice of weight and exercises while he was doing his cable pressdowns with only half the stack. I thought, "You know what partner, you go ahead and do your cute little cable presses.... I'll get results.
I was squatting 400 lbs. while some dude with shorts, wifebeater, and high socks was (relaxing) on the leg extention with his cute sets. I thought..... "Watch carefully young feller. Watch carefully how to grow legs while you do your cute little sets."
Now I have some thoughts along this line that I would like to share with you. I get a real kick out of these guys who are so paranoid with overtraining. I get a real kick out of these guys who are scared to put on a little fat along with their muscle gain. Oh, it's great. I love it. The paranoia is facinating.
I tell people, If you want to grow, you need to eat at least 50 grams of protein at each meal, about 5-6 times a day. Then they start talking about how they want to "clean bulk" and not put on any fat. Tell ya what slim, you go ahead and eat like a bird, I'll gain some muscle.
I tell people that it's going to take a little more than 3 cute little sets to shock your muscles into growth, and they come back at me with this fear of overtraining stuff. My response is, "Go ahead and train like Richard Simmons.... I'll go ahead and gain strength and muscle."
Some people need cancel their memberships on bb.c and actually do what needs to be done in order to make your body change.
Train like it all depends on the exercises. Eat like it all depends on the meals. |

Drinks A good amount of shakes a day. I personally wish i can take that much a day. But currently im taking average 140-200g a Day.
Critical i like what you said thier. I can honestly say before 1 month ago i was one of those guys who didnt want to gain fat. But now i realized how to gain muscle. ANd i eat like a animal and i train hard and heavy on everything i do.
Only thing i train light on is my back because for some reason thiers a huge Power difference with my whole body to my back. My back is very weak in power not sure why but im training it either way and slowly working it up to the same level as everything else |

Look, in order for you to achieve whatever modest goals you have, you are going to have to work like you want more. Shoot for the sun, and you might hit the moon. It takes A LOT for your body to respond. So if you want to have a body like a Sean Sherk, you need to train and eat like you want to have a body like Brock Lesnar. But if you train like you want to look like Sean Sherk, you may end up looking like an Abercrombie and Fitch skinny boy. |

I see this problem at the martial arts gym where I work out a lot too... people don't want to "overdo it", and they have their own theories about a moderate effort for an hour being more effective than a vigorous (shaking, puking, crying) two hour work out because "that's what most people do". "Most people" are not what I want to look like. "Most people" are not as strong as I want to be. I'm proud that I work out in a way that unsettles "most people"! You do what you believe in... I'll get the results! |

And Da Goose has the best avi ever. I've liked Branch for a while because of his intense training style. Never thought he'd be Mr. O runner up though. |

Rep Power: 101357 | Re: You do what you believe in.... I'll get results! Wow. I havent had that experience. That would suck to have someone say that. Well, one time, some guy walked in off the street into the barbell club, loaded up the leg press, and I was like, "hey man, are you serious?" That was the only time I suggested maybe someone shouldn't be lifting all that weight. |
