weight training session ?

i want to ask how long a weight training session shud be ? generally my entire weight training session after cardio , measures around 45 mins on an average , with 20-25 second breather between sets.but the problem is results are coming out too slow.i think i need to spend more time in gym.give me an expert opinion on this one.im still a newbie in workout science.

Re: weight training session ?

Your only resting 20-25 seconds between sets? Id definitly up that to somewhere around 60-120 seconds. A general rule of thumb is:

30-90 seconds for endurance
90-120 seconds for hypertrophy
120-180 seconds for strength

Obviously these are all cookie cutter times, but it gives you an idea.
