Ha, thanks. Well, my quads have been 22'' for about a year now, or at least 8 months. It has been getting denser and more defined but still small. My calves have skyrocketed since I started this. I suggest sprints to everyone(unless you have knee problems or something wrong with your legs)

Everyone starts somewhere. Before I finally touched a bench, all I did was pushups. Got me to 115, but then I didn't know how to train. I only trained upperbody and no legs. When I did train legs, once I got to 135 I never went up in weight. Stupid me. But thanks, I understand where your going.

Re: Young-One's journey to football success

Holy shit, that sums up my feelings for today's workout. That, and ouch.

2/12/08 Heavy Deadlift/Speed legs

Deadlift - 305X3,3,3 PR!!
Good Morning - 85X8,8(doesn't hurt my neck anymore)
Clean and Jerk - 125X3,2 (Both were really sloppy, going to go down and work on form)
Jumps - 28in. X5,5,5
Crunches - BWX100

The only reason crunches are in there are for football, our football team is working up to 1000 crunches in a row. Yes, 1000 no typo. One-thousand. I'm not used to high reps with anything, so those hurt a good deal. I'ma get used to it, and come out on top. Tomorrow is heavy bench and sprints. Thursday theres a possibility I won't workout because I'm going to Jacksonville to see my cousin for a while before he leaves for boot camp.

Be safe everyone.

Re: Young-One's journey to football success

Wow. That doesn't even explain tonights workout. There is no word to explain tonight's workout. Enough talk, here's the workout.

Bench - [Warmup - BarX10, 95X8] 160X3,3,3,3 PR!!!
DB Press - 40X8(right)7(left), 3, 25X10
CGBP - 140X6,6,3 PR!!!
Row - 180X5,5,5,5 PR!!!
Pullover - 25X8,8

Explosive start, Jog rest - 40yardsX2 (First jog was high knees, second was butt kicks)
Explosive starts - 10yardsX6 (First 2 sprints were in 3-point stance, rest were in WR stance)
Sprints - 40yardsX3
Back Pedal, Sprint back to start - 40yardsX1
Shuffles, sprint back to start - Both sidesX1 (40 yards)
Back Pedal, Rip, sprint rest of way - 40yardsX1
Crossover Shuffles - Right and LeftX1 (40yards)
Shuttle Runs - 20yardsX3

GREAT WORKOUT. Tomorrow my cousin is leaving. We're heading to Jacksonville around 7am. Also, heavy squat tomorrow, and hitting 150 crunches.

Re: Young-One's journey to football success

Today we went to Jacksonville for my cousin leaving. He swore in around 11:00 am. Then left around 11:30-11:45. We just got back. It was very sad, and had me really mad, but it's what he wants to do. Today is heavy squat, I hope how my day went won't mess up my workout.

Re: Young-One's journey to football success

Turned out to be a pretty good workout. Strayed away from the regular workout, but I still got a great one in...

Squat - 125X5, 135X5, 145X5, 155X5, 165X5
Speed RDL - 215X3,3,3
RDL - 315X6 (EASY!!!), 365X1/2 (could've gotten this if I didn't do 6 on 315)
SLDL - 135X12,12

My lower back is on FIRE. Tomorrow it's gunna be hard getting around, lol. Well, nothing to do from here but eat, sleep and grow.

Re: Young-One's journey to football success

Last night's workout was good. I thought I wasn't gunna get in my whole workout. Here's what I did:

Speed Floor Press - 115X3,3,3,3,3
Military Press - 95X5,5,5,5,5 PR!!!
Front Raise - 45X8,8,8
Floor Skullcrushers - 60X8,6,2 PR!!!
Tri Ext - 12.5X10,10,10,10,10(Right)8(Left) PR!!!

So, my military press is shooting threw the roof! Todays deadlifts and tomorrow is sprints. I'm gunna hit heavy bench Thursday and Squat Friday.

Re: Young-One's journey to football success

2/19/08 Heavy Deadlift

Deadlift - 315X3,3,2 (Grip started giving in) PR!!!
Close-Grip(about 6'') Rows - 135X8,8
Good Morning - 85X8,8,8 PR!!!
Clean and Jerk - 115X5,3 (Tiring)
Speed Squat - 95X3,3,3
Speed Front Squat - 95X3,3
Jumps - 30inX5,5,5 PR!!!
Squats - 95X20 PR!!!

Pretty good. Gunna stick with deadlifts till 5 reps. And clean and jerk form is still bad. So I'm gunna work on it. Getting stronger/better overall. Tomorrow is sprints, Thursday is heavy bench.

In the clean, try to bring the bar as high up as you can and then getting under it. Remember to get full extension of your body to get the bar to it's highest position, it's that extension that builds the power and speed!
