doing it different

Started today with a new routine. Gonna do a 3 day split

Today- Chest Shoulders Tris

Flat Bench-
225x10
250 3x5
275x3
300x1 prob could have gotten 2 but had this guy spotting me who was real skinny and didn't seem to know what he was doin so i didnt want to end up with 300 pounds stuck on my chest.

Dips-
Bw+50x8
Bw+55 2x6
Bw+60x5

Standing Military Press
135 3x8
Started to get really tired here. Never done multiple body parts in one workout so i was feeling weak on shoulders

Seated Arnold PRess
40x10
50x8
55 2x5
60x3

Tricep pushdown
110x20
150x10
170x8
200x4

Good workout, im rocked right now. I really think doin this will get me through this plateu im in from doin the same shit for a year and a half. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
For the rest of the routine im gonna do back, biceps and then the 3rd day legs. im debating on whether to do this split 2 times a week and take one day off any ideas?

Solid workout, nice numbers on bench as well. Like Wala said a 3 day split sounds good, keep it up for a while and see how you do with it.

Re: doing it different

Looking solid to me. Good numbers.

As for how many days to take off that's a tough one. Most push/pull/leg splits have you setup for M/W/F and 4 rest days but it really comes down to your goals and what works for you. 6 days a week might be overtraining for one person and just the right amount for the next.

Exactly dude!

Basically, it all comes down to personally experience coupled with trial and error.. Its taken me over 4 years to find out just a few things about how I respond to certain styles of training..

Re: doing it different

Today was Back and Biceps. I felt good, pretty strong workout. New PR on deadlifts! Decided to do just 5 reps on the pyramiding up to the big stuff. Usually I do like 225x12 315x10 so on but i think the way i did it today would be better for strength. Idk tell me what you guys think

Deadlifts-
225x5
315x5
405x5
425x2
440x1 YEAH BUDDY PR!!

Barbell curls-
95x5
105x5
115x5
135x2
135x1

Pull ups
BW+25x8
BW+35x6
BW+45x3

DB curl
50x10
55x5 (got real tired right about now)
60x3

One arm DB Row
100x10
100x10
100x8

Good workout today, i have another question. THis guy at the gym told me if i really wanted to get my deadlift numbers up i should buy some straps. Does anybody here use straps and if so are they good?

You're putting up some great numbers on the couple of workouts you've posted. What kind of diet are you following?
