Good to have you here Lencho. For those that dont know, lencho is a strong mofo who knows alot about westside and training in general.

Great pull on that 565. Lemme ask, are you right or left handed?

Thank you guys for stopping by.
Hey man nice lifts! One concern tho... When you pull your deadlifts your always looking down! arent you suppose to keep your head looking forward? :th_icon_2thumbsup:

Ur deadlift looks pretty good to me....A side view could tell me a lot more though....one thing I do notice though, is you hyperextend like a motherfucker...You don't have to, just stand up and lock ur hips in place.

And you guys really should alternate grips when using a mixed grip, it can cause muscular imbalances. When it's show time, go with what ur most comfortable with, but during practice, alternate every set.

BTW lencho, you are a fucking BEAST....

Can I see a squat vid?? From the side?

you hyperextend ur back a lot, at least that's what I get..but the video might be misleading. You don't have to lean back hardcore at the top of a deadlift, just stand up straight and lock ur hips. Maybe you don't lean back a lot, maybe the vid angle is bad...it's hard to tell, but I see a lot of people do this when they deadlift and it's a little unneccessary. I think some people have the wrong idea about where the movement really is..it's more about hip extension than spinal flexion.

Here is a deadlift in PERFECT, 100% flawless form.

We could all learn a lot from this guy. Superb athlete.

I've seen that vid before. Very funny.

Word has it that the guy is actually goofing on a guy known in several forums as Diesel Weasel, whose form is less than desirable on many lifts. Look how easily he sets the weight back down. I doubt he would struggle so much pulling it up.
yeah, that's what I heard...did you see the comments people left? "I hope you break ur back" "you deserve to hurt yourself"....he got NO love

Mix grip doesn't make musclular imbalances! :th_icon_weight_lift

You should change the grip up....from right over/left under to left over/right under. If you always use a mixed grip with the same hand over and the same under, it can cause a muscular imbalance...I don't think you understood me....

You can always use a mixed grip, just switch up which hands are over/under.

i don't see how it would cause a muscular imbalance if you were to use a right over left grip all the time instead of switching it up. it's kind of like telling me that after 12 years of hockey using a right handed shot saying that i should be using a left handed shot for more goals or something like that. If a person (not saying you) but a person was worried about a muscular imbalance then use a double overhand grip and do lots of grip work or use straps.

That's a terrible example. Here's a couple better ones...

My friend used to skateboard religiously, now one calf is bigger than the other.

Same friend is a backwaiter at a restaurant and always carries at least 3-4 plates lined up on a fully extended arm....one lat is bigger than the other.

But whatever, I'm just making things up. Nothing I say is because it's well documented or anything.

That's not a terrible example because having a right handed shot means that the right hand is your power hand. So using what you said, theoretically my right side would be more powerful than my left side because I have been a right handed shot all my life and played hockey for 12 and a half years.
