Your telling me each body-part once a week, other people say twice, and even others say something different. F*%$ my life!
I don't mean to sound pissed at you BG, or anyone for that matter, because I'm not. Its just that everywhere I turn, a different opinion, coming from different people each with the results to go along with it. Its quite frustrating.

Pick one, whichever you want, and hit it head on. You grow in the kitchen. Run with one routine for 2-3 months and if you aren't seeing improvement (if you have a proper diet that is) then pick another one and run with that one for a while. If you're doing your heavy lifts and eating some heavy protein you will gain some dense muscle!
For me, twice a week for each muscle works perfectly. My diet has been shit (compared to normal) and my cardio non-existant yet my peaks in my biceps are popping better than ever.
It definitely doesn't take 144 hours to recover from a training session, but you definitely want to give it more than 48.
I've done both and I love both (single muscle group each day & Push/Pull/Legs). I've made solid gains on both, and I've struggled on both, but it all comes down to one thing -- DIET! You have to eat to grow, simple as that. |

*Please excuse my mini-rant.* | How many times have people on this board say train a muscle 1X/week!!! Obviously YOUR way has produced shit results....so maybe you should listen to the people that REALLY know.
1 body part trained hard once per week PERIOD!!!!!!! unless of course you are on a heavy cycle of a perfectly designed roid cycle.....which you are not. I'm not pissed I'm just tired of people whining because they do things their way and can't understand why they get no where.
Show me some pic of people "natural" that train a body part 2X/week that have a physique.?! Next time people ask me for advice.....you better have the check book out.
Straw works in a Protein Smoothie shop as well so his protein is coming in at great amounts. I gained the most size when I worked at one next to my gym. I had 3 -4 meals + 4 shakes/day each w/ over 60g of protein in them and all the carbs needed.

There are definitely programs out there, for natural lifters, that has them working muscle groups 2x a week. I don't mean to snub you, but you know what works from your experience, other people have different experiences, and still get results.
So my diet sucks, and my lifting sucks. Awesome!
I think it would be better if I just learned from my own experiences (read: failures) from now own, instead of trying to apply the experiences of other people.
Did that make any sense? lol |

This is not a sport of emulation as much as trial and error. You have to be able to determine how well a routine works for you -- something you cannot possibly accomplish if your diet is crap. There's a triangle to this game, with Diet at the base, Training on one side, and mentality on the other. Without all three you will not accomplish anything, but put them together and you may never stop! |

Actually...no offense, BG's, because you ARE the man ...but I'm natural...and I train bodyparts twice a week. I see great results...especially on chest and legs. I don't train biceps twice a week because they get too big.
Sometimes I train twice a day (weaker workout the second time)
The only thing I do to heal more quickly is inrease my protein, carbs, and amino acids.
And yes... I will send you a pic if you want to see a natural who can handle twice a week training of the same bodypart! |
