Nice addition of snatch pulls, I didn't know they existed until after I tried them out. I figured the great weightlifters had to have done those..
Thanks, they're a great exercise! Hope I can do this someday:
(That is 200kg/440lbs at 85kg/187lbs BW!)
Didn't workout on Saturday, had to work early, and was VERY sore after thursday.
Monday 31st August
Bench press
The glorious noob-gym exercise! I had a friend joining me and my training partner today, so I had to show him around The heaviest I tried was 60kg/132lbs x 8, which felt pretty light.
Push press
Then we did some push presses, the guy is 6'3'' so it was a pain in the ass trying to teach him proper form and the right racking position on the shoulders. Only went to 30kg/66lbs x 6 or something.
Didn't have time for anything more, and I was still sore from thursday so it's probably for the best. Finished with some jogging:
12 minutes jogging
Ran 10 minutes at 11.2km/h, then 2 minutes at 12km/h. Felt good![/QUOTE]

Damn that dude is an animal. Is a snatch/clean pull meant to be that high? I thought they ended just above the hips. Are there different forms of it, because I really need to work on the high part of the pull, my landing on the power clean sucks.

Actually, the bar in that pic is only slightly above the hips, he's already descending under the bar. Example:

Push press
I don't know what the hell is wrong with me, but looks like high reps with ~65% of my max fails HARD. By the last set my elbow refused to lock out. On 40kgs that is. Such a sad day.
40kg/88lbs x 8
40kg/88lbs x 8
40kg/88lbs x 8 + 1 power jerk
40kg/88lbs x 8
Dips
I injured my wrist a few weeks ago when I got in a little bike accident, and dips seemed to aggrovate it. Too bad. Only got 1 set.
BW x 8
Incline bench press
Great mind to muscle connection with my upper chest, but it actually felt heavy. Keep in mind, my max is about 100kg/220lbs...
40kg/88lbs x 12
40kg/88lbs x 12
40k/88lbs x 10 - tricep was being a ***
12 minutes jogging
Ran 10 minutes at 12.5km/h, then 2 minutes at 13km/h. Though I was gonna die.
Seriously, todays training sucked monkey balls, I felt pretty motivated but my body wasn't. Kidna strange actually, I got a huge PR on push press just 2 weeks ago, but now I fail hard at almost half that weight...

What's the difference between a jerk and a power jerk?
When people say "jerk" they usually mean split jerk, where you have on foot in front and one in back, while in a power jerk, you don't change your foot positioning.

Ah alright, I always called it a Push Jerk. I thought there was something I didn't know, like catching the jerk lower or widening your hand position before jerking. Last line came out wrong. Great, now I said 'came' after that, so that coming out wrong didn't sound right. And then I said 'coming', I give up, too many sexual innuendos around Olympic Weightlifting...so I pounded some snatches today.
