July, 2004: I was unfit, fat, definitely unhealthy, 39.4% body fat. My waist was 118 cm, I was a UK size 22 in clothes and so depressed.
I didn't eat, I rarely slept and I just felt like absolute shit. My daughter had just been born, and I knew something had to change, so I started looking into the nutrition side of things, started exercising and finding out about my body - what worked, what didn't, and I stuck with it, although I fell off the wagon quite a few times.
This is a picture of me after I'd already lost about two and a half stone, and it's the first time it's been put on the net. It scares me, actually, to realise that I thought I didn't look too bad, but now...well, you'll see (and yes, my hair really is that colour lol)
I fell into lifting little pink dumbells (yeah, they were actually pink) and "toning" (I hate that word now), and I loved it, even though I knew it wasn't enough for me after a while.
Then I discovered an article at BB.com called "Why Women Should Lift Heavy", and it changed everything. I started eating properly, I started to lift heavier weights, and I felt so strong it was incredible.
I'm now hovering about 19-odd %bf (I haven't checked it for ages), and I've had fits and starts lately - stress, I don't handle it well - but I'll get there.
This is me now. I'm still lumpy ( ), but it'll get there. I'm not very photogenic, btw...
Like I said - I'm still a work in progress. I'll be posting everything here - diet, cardio, weights, the bloody works.
And yes, I'm nervous as f*ck about putting this up here...

It's weird, but everyone round here tells me I haven't lost that much, but I can SEE the difference, and feel it too.
I mean, I'm now 158 - I'd plateaued for about eight months and couldn't shift from 169, so I'm just glad it's moving again...got some catching up to do now LOL.
I'll be putting my workout up here, so feel free to comment - I do far better having learnt from people who KNOW how to do it.
Thanks for the comment too, Admin, I've still got a way to go though. |

Reverse bicep curl 3x10 Didn't do - see below.
Well, it went off okay, except for the bolded parts, which I'm going to ask about later on.
Side, front raises and bicep curls, I had to reduce because of sloppy form (low blood sugar, I got dizzy) and missed reverse curls completely because I felt so ill.
I've now had my CEE and some grapes and feel a hel of a lot better, but I'll watch it from now on. I think I'll also change the two warm-up sets to chest presses, rather than incline.
Still have yet to do cardio and yoga, but I will. |

Rep Power: 52799 | Tuesday, 14th November. Meal 1: Oatmeal. Meal 2: Protein bar (I was out and in a rush, best thing I could grab) Meal 3: chicken breast, 1/2 cup peas/sweetcorn Meal 4: chicken breast, 1/2 cup peas/sweetcorn Meal 5:Quorn burger (for variety, chicken bores me lol) Meal 6:Oatmeal
Total cals:1,077 Carbs - 140g (51%) Protein - 85g (31%) Fat - 22g (18%)
Didn't do any weights today, felt so sore and achey in my chest area (around the shoulders and near sternum) and even my upper back seems a bit painful too...Good job, methinks.
I've read (and heard from someone on this site - can't remember who, I'm sorry ) that carbs for breakfast and immediately post-workout is a good idea, and minimal at other times on weights day, and minimal on non-weight days, so I'm going to give that a try from tomorrow.
Must get that cals total up, although considering I only did about an hours walking today, that may not be such a bad thing. |
